How we choose
Fewer things, better made
Everything here is made by a workshop we have visited: the mill in Yorkshire that weaves the blankets, the pottery that throws the bowls, the bindery that sews the notebooks. We ask how a thing is made and how it mends, and if the answer is that it does not, we leave it there.
The shop stays small on purpose. When something better made comes along, it replaces what was here rather than joining it.
Buy it once, use it daily, mend it when it needs mending.
